Restorative dentistry

Looking for a dentist that does implants?

At UNO we place and restore implants in-house. Here's what that means, what to expect, and how to tell if we're the right office for your case.

In-house vs. referral.

Some offices refer all implant placements to a periodontist or oral surgeon, then make the crown themselves. Others (like UNO) place and restore in-house for single-implant cases. Both approaches work — the question is whether the office is honest about its limits. We refer complex full-arch and grafting cases to specialists we trust.

Our workflow.

Initial CBCT scan + planning visit. Implant placement with a guided surgical guide (typically 90 minutes, local anesthesia or sedation if preferred). 3–4 month healing period. Final crown delivery in two appointments — one scan, one cementation. Total: ~4 months from start to chewing on the final tooth.

Who we don't treat.

Patients with uncontrolled diabetes, heavy smokers, or active periodontal disease are usually not implant candidates until those are addressed. We'll tell you straight if we don't think you're a candidate today — and explain what to do to become one.

Common questions.

Are implants painful?

The surgery itself is done with local anesthesia and is usually painless. The next 48 hours are dull and managed with ibuprofen. Most patients describe it as easier than they expected.

How long do implants last?

A well-placed implant in a healthy mouth can last 25+ years. The crown on top may need replacement at the 15-year mark.

Will I need a bone graft?

Maybe — depends on how long the tooth has been missing. CBCT will tell us.
