Does Delta Dental cover sedation?

It depends on the plan and the procedure. Here's the honest summary — and how UNO verifies your specific coverage in real time.

What's usually covered.

Delta Dental PPO plans typically cover sedation when it's medically necessary — e.g., a complex extraction, surgical implant placement, or a patient with severe anxiety. Pure anxiety-management nitrous for a routine cleaning is generally not covered. Oral conscious sedation for surgical procedures is often partially covered.

How we verify at UNO.

Before your appointment, we call Delta Dental and confirm your specific plan's sedation coverage. We send you a written estimate with the covered amount, the patient portion, and the alternative if it's not covered. No surprises.

If it's not covered.

Nitrous oxide is generally $75–$125 out of pocket. Oral conscious sedation runs $200–$400. Both are eligible expenses for HSAs/FSAs.
