Invisalign vs. braces — which is right?
Most adults asking this question can do either. Here's the honest comparison from a clinical standpoint, not a marketing one.
When Invisalign is the better choice.
Mild to moderate crowding. Adult patients who care about appearance during treatment. Patients with strong oral hygiene (you have to brush after every meal). Cases that fit within Invisalign's predictable movement range — your dentist can show you on a digital plan before you commit.
When traditional braces are the better choice.
Severe rotation, intrusion, or extrusion movements. Patients who won't reliably wear aligners 22 hours a day. Children or teens with growing jaws. Some bite corrections that need fine torque control braces handle better.
What we do at UNO.
Free 3D smile preview at the consult — we scan your teeth, simulate the Invisalign result, and show you the final position before you commit. Most adult cases finish in 6–14 months. If we see your case is better suited to traditional ortho or a referral to a specialist orthodontist, we'll say so.
