Restorative dentistry

Choosing an experienced implant dentist.

Five questions to ask before you let anyone drill into your jawbone.

1. How many have you placed?

Volume matters. We'd suggest finding a clinician who has placed at least a few hundred implants and who places them weekly, not occasionally. Ask directly — most dentists will tell you.

2. What's your failure rate?

Implant failure happens in the 2–5% range industry-wide. Higher than that, ask why. Lower than that, ask how they measure (some clinicians don't track meaningfully).

3. Which implant brand do you use?

Straumann, Nobel BioCare, BioHorizons, and Zimmer are the established premium brands. Generic / value-brand implants have weaker long-term data and harder-to-find replacement parts a decade out.

4. Do you do guided surgery?

Guided surgery uses a 3D-printed surgical guide built from your CBCT scan, which controls angle and depth precisely. It's the modern standard. Freehand placement still works for simple cases but introduces more risk.

5. Who does the crown?

The clinician placing the implant should be involved in the crown design too — the soft-tissue shape they leave behind is what makes the final crown look natural.

Common questions.

Where can I see UNO's work?

Our smile gallery has real before-and-afters from our own cases. We'd also encourage you to read our Google reviews.

Should I get a second opinion?

Always — especially for big cases. A good dentist will encourage you to.

We offer oral conscious sedation. Tell us when you call.
